A note before we start
We sell our products two ways: as one-time purchases and through Subscribe & Save subscriptions. This policy explains exactly how to cancel either one — quickly, easily, and without anyone trying to talk you out of it.
We believe that if subscribing was easy, cancelling should be just as easy. That's not just our principle — it's required by U.S. federal law (FTC's "Click-to-Cancel" rule) and by California's Automatic Renewal Law (ARL).
1. One-time purchases
If you placed a one-time order (no subscription):
Before your order ships:
- Email admin@therivare.com with your order number and "Cancel Order" in the subject line
- We'll cancel the order and refund your payment in full
- Cancellations are typically processed within 1 business day
After your order ships:
- We can no longer cancel the order in the system
- You can refuse delivery and the package will return to us
- Or you can keep the package and request a refund per our Refund Policy
2. Subscribe & Save subscriptions
If you signed up for Subscribe & Save (every 60, 120, or 180 days), you can cancel, skip, or change your subscription at any time, online, in any of the following ways:
Option A: Through your account (fastest)
- Log in to your account at TheRivare.com/account
- Click "Manage Subscriptions"
- Click "Cancel Subscription" next to the plan you want to cancel
- Confirm cancellation
The cancellation takes effect immediately. You'll receive a confirmation email within minutes.
No additional steps. No "are you sure" loops. No retention offers you have to dismiss.
Option B: By email
If you prefer email or can't access your account:
- Email admin@therivare.com
- Subject line: "Subscription Cancellation"
- Include your order number or the email address used to subscribe
We'll process the cancellation within 1 business day and send you a confirmation email.
3. What "cancel" means
When you cancel a subscription:
- No future charges will be made to your payment method
- No future shipments will be sent
- Any shipment that has already been processed will continue to ship normally — it cannot be intercepted (see Section 4)
- Your account remains active — you can place one-time orders or re-subscribe at any time
4. Shipments already in process
If you cancel after a recurring charge has been processed but before the package has shipped:
- Email us immediately at admin@therivare.com with "URGENT — Subscription Cancel" in the subject line
- We'll do our best to stop the shipment and refund the charge
- This is a manual process — we can't guarantee we'll catch it in time
If the package has already shipped:
- The shipment cannot be cancelled
- You can refuse delivery, or accept it and follow our Refund Policy for a refund within the 30-day window
5. Skipping or pausing instead of cancelling
If you don't want to fully cancel — for example, you're going on a long trip, or you have plenty of product left — you can:
Skip a single shipment
- Log in to your account → Manage Subscriptions → Skip Next Shipment
- Your next charge will move to the following scheduled date
Pause your subscription
- Log in to your account → Manage Subscriptions → Pause
- All charges stop until you reactivate
Change your delivery frequency
- Log in to your account → Manage Subscriptions → Change Frequency
- Choose every 60, 120, or 180 days
You can also email admin@therivare.com to request any of the above changes.
6. Reminder before each charge
We'll always email you 3 business days before any recurring subscription charge. The email will include:
- The amount we're about to charge
- The products being shipped
- A direct link to cancel, skip, or change your subscription
If you don't want the upcoming charge, you have at least 3 business days to take action.
7. No cancellation fees, ever
We will never charge:
- Cancellation fees
- Early termination fees
- "Restocking" fees for cancelled subscriptions
- Penalties for changing your subscription frequency
If a competitor told you "all subscriptions have these fees" — they were wrong, or they were cancelling the wrong subscription.
8. If you have trouble cancelling
If, for any reason, you can't cancel through your account or by email:
- Email admin@therivare.com with "Cancellation Issue" in the subject line
- Describe the problem
- We'll cancel manually and confirm in writing within 1 business day
You should never have to fight us to stop a charge. If that ever happens, please tell us — and you also have the right to:
- File a complaint with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov
- File a complaint with your state attorney general
- Dispute the charge with your bank or payment provider
We hope you never need to. We'll do our part to make sure you don't.
